Title Formatting Rules

Title Formatting Rules for Academic Writing

1.      Center the title.
2.      Do not use all capital letters. Capitalize only the first letter of important words.
3.      Do not capitalize articles and prepositions unless they are the first word of the title. (A Wonderful Coffee Shop)
4.      Do not underline the title.
5.      Do not put the title in italics.
6.      A title cannot be a sentence. Therefore, it has NO period at the end.
